Managing Categories

Where to find it: My Feeds > Parameters > Categories

The Categories page serves two main purposes: choosing which store categories you want to export to your marketplaces, and applying your rule-filled Profiles to those categories.

As shown in below image, your PrestaShop categories appear in a tree structure on the left, with corresponding Profile Mapping dropdown menus on the right.

Goal 1: Including and Excluding Categories

Before sending data to any marketplace, you must choose which parts of your catalog Feed.biz is allowed to access:

  • Only the categories you check on this page will be available for export.
  • Once a category is enabled here, you can further include or exclude it inside individual marketplace settings later on.
  • You can use the quick action buttons at the top of the page (Expand all, Collapse all, Check all, or Uncheck all) to manage large catalogs quickly.

Goal 2: Applying Profiles and Rules

Once a Profile is assigned to a product category, every item inside that category must follow the rules grouped within that profile.

  • How it works: If you have a profile containing a rule to ignore items priced under $10, assigning that profile to a category will automatically block all products under $10 within that specific category.
  • How to assign: Use the dropdown menu in the Profile Mapping column next to your chosen category to select the correct profile.

Bulk Selection and Editing Shortcuts

To save time when managing large product catalogs, you can use the following interface shortcuts:

  • Select Multiple Categories: Click the checkbox for your first category, hold down the Shift key on your keyboard, and then click the last category in your target range. This will automatically check all categories between the first and last selection.
  • Duplicate Profiles Downward: Clicking the double down arrow icon within a profile selection field will copy that specific profile to all subsequent categories listed below it. This automatic duplication will stop if it hits a lower category that already has a different profile assigned to it.
