Installing the module (Cdiscount)

Module Installation Procedure

The standard installation process is detailed on the official PrestaShop website:

💡 While this official guide is older, the steps remain completely valid for all setups. It covers every scenario in detail, which is why we recommend following it.

Troubleshooting Automatic Installation

If the automatic installation from your PrestaShop back office fails, you can install the module manually by following the manual setup steps described in the PrestaShop documentation linked above.

If you still encounter issues, try a clean re-installation via FTP:

  • Delete the modules/cdiscount folder from your server.

  • Unzip the Cdiscount module ZIP file on your computer. Inside, you will find a cdiscount folder. Upload this folder via FTP directly into your server's modules/ directory.

If the error persists, please enable PrestaShop's debug mode, take screenshots of the error messages, and send them to our support team.

Updating the Module

Updating the module follows the exact same steps as a fresh installation. Whether you update through your PrestaShop back office or via FTP, your current settings and configurations will not be overwritten.

How to Update Step-by-Step:

  1. Go to Modules > Module Manager, click Upload a Module, and select the latest version of the Cdiscount module file.

  1. Crucial Next Steps: To prevent issues caused by old cached data or unregistered settings after the update, please complete the following clean-up steps:

1. Save the Module Configuration

Navigate to Modules > Cdiscount, and click the “Save the Configuration” button in the right corner below. This ensures all your settings—including any new features introduced by the update—are properly saved and activated.

📌 Note: The "Save the Configuration" button is available on most module tabs. If you don’t see it on your current screen, simply click over to a different tab where it is visible.

2. Clear Your Browser Cache

Old script files can remain in your browser. Refresh your browser environment by clearing its cache:

3. Clear PrestaShop Smarty Cache

Finally, clear your store's internal cache. Go to Advanced Parameters > Performance, then click the “Clear Cache” button in the top right corner:
