Configure a GCID code exemption

You sell products without EAN codes, and Amazon has granted your brand a GCID exemption.

⚠️ Important: If you have not received a GCID exemption from Amazon, do not follow these instructions.

Step 1 – Activate Expert Mode

Enable Expert Mode by following this guide:

👉 Activate the Expert Mode

Then go to the Features tab and enable the Code Exemption option:

Code Exemption feature

Step 2 – Verify Amazon Information

In your Amazon Seller Central account, go to:

Catalog > View Selling Applications to find your GTIN exemption approval.

2.1 Check the Brand

Make sure the brand in your product pages (field Manufacturer or Brand) exactly matches the brand approved by Amazon.

⚠️ Case-sensitive (uppercase/lowercase) and spacing matters.

Note: In PrestaShop 1.6 it's called Manufacturer, and in 1.5 Brand — both refer to the same field.

Step 3 – Configure Your Profiles

In the profiles for exempted products:

  • Select the brand linked to the exemption
  • Set Code Exemption = Yes

Step 4 – Send the Product Feed

Send a product creation feed:
