Some of the information submitted contradicts information in the Amazon catalog

You get an error like this in the product creation report:

Error 8541: SKU: 13092 - SKU 13092, ASIN B00B1RFCQI, ('item_name' Merchant: 'Lindt Création Coulis de Menthe' / Amazon: 'Coque Iphone 4 / 4S personnalisée Coquelicot ref 2015'). [...]

Cause of the error

This is a matching error with an existing Amazon product.

Amazon detects that the submitted EAN already exists...

…but the product data conflicts with its database.

Common causes

  • Title, brand or manufacturer don’t match
  • Different attributes (e.g. color: taupe vs grey)
  • Another seller misused the EAN
  • Same product has multiple EANs

Possible solutions

  • Do not send the product as a creation feed
  • Send it as an offer (stock, price, etc.)
  • Amazon will use the existing product listing

2. Force the ASIN (if known)

  • Use the ASIN shown in the error message
  • Add it in the product’s Amazon tab

Note

Before forcing an ASIN, make sure there are no major differences (e.g. wrong color or version).

If another seller used the wrong EAN, contact Amazon support to request mediation and prove your ownership.
