Error When Importing Amazon Orders – Product count mismatch
This article explains the “Product count mismatch” error that can occur when importing Amazon orders into PrestaShop, what it means, and how to prevent it as much as possible.
What does “Product count mismatch” mean?
The error Product count mismatch indicates that the available stock in PrestaShop is lower than the quantity required by the Amazon order at the moment the order is imported.
In short:
- Amazon confirms the order
- The module attempts to create the order in PrestaShop
- PrestaShop does not have enough stock for one or more products
- The order import fails with the error Product count mismatch
This usually happens due to stock desynchronisation or because the stock was already consumed by another order.
Common causes
The most frequent reasons for this error are:
- Stock was sold on another channel before the Amazon order was imported
- Stock synchronization between PrestaShop and Amazon is delayed or failing
- Amazon orders remain in Pending status for some time, during which stock is not reserved
- Filters or cron issues prevent correct stock updates
Recommended solution 1 – Enable the Amazon Remote Cart feature
To reduce the risk of Product count mismatch errors, we strongly recommend enabling the Amazon Remote Cart option.
Why Remote Cart helps
When the Remote Cart feature is enabled:
- Stock is reserved in PrestaShop as soon as Amazon creates the order
- This applies even when the Amazon order is still in Pending status
- The reserved stock cannot be used by other orders or channels
This significantly reduces the risk of stock being consumed before the order is imported.

Recommended solution 2 – Verify stock synchronization
If your stock or prices are not correctly synchronized, the available quantity in PrestaShop may not reflect reality, leading to import errors.
We strongly recommend reviewing your synchronization setup and fixing any underlying issues.
