Catalog Import Rules

Where to find it: My Feeds > Parameters > Rules

Rules allow you to automatically control which products get imported from PrestaShop into Feed.biz based on their price, manufacturer, or supplier.

⚠️ Important Distinction: These rules apply strictly to the catalog import phase from PrestaShop into Feed.biz. Additional, separate rules can be configured later for individual marketplaces within their specific setup sections.

As shown in images below, the setup interface features an editing area on the left and a Summary panel on the right that shows what your rule will do.

How Actions Work

When setting up an import rule, you control whether products are blocked or allowed into your Feed.biz catalog using the Action setting:

  • Blank / No Action: If you leave the Action checkbox unchecked (as seen in image below), the system will include the matching products in your Feed.biz catalog.
  • Ignore: If you check the Action box and select Ignore from the dropdown menu (as seen in below image), the system will exclude these matching products from importing into Feed.biz.

How to Set Up a Rule Step-by-Step

  1. Click + Add a Rule at the top left of the screen.
  2. Type a clear name in the Rule name field.
  3. Check the boxes for the conditions you want to target (such as Manufacturer or Supplier) and select your store's values from their dropdown menus.
  4. Check Price Range if you want to restrict the rule to certain item costs, and type your price boundaries.
  5. Choose your outcome using the Action checkbox:

  • Leave it unchecked to allow these items into Feed.biz.
  • Check it and choose Ignore to block these items from importing.

  1. Look at the Summary section on the right to double-check your logic.
  2. Click Save to store your rule, or Save & continue to finalize your settings and proceed.

Rule Examples

  • Example 1: Ignore low-priced items from a specific brand

If you want to skip importing products into Feed.biz that cost less than $10 from a specific manufacturer and supplier combination, set up your criteria for that brand and price, then set the action to Ignore.

  • Example 2: Keep only products within a specific price range

If you only want to import products from a certain manufacturer and supplier that cost between $10 and $20, select that brand, enter the $10–$20 price range, and leave the action Blank.

  • Example 3: Exclude a specific price range for certain brands

If you want to bypass products from Manufacturer X and Supplier Y that cost between $10 and $20, choose those exact options and set the action to Ignore. These products will NOT be imported into Feed.biz.

How Rules Apply to Your Catalog

Rules are organized using Profiles and Categories. They follow a simple chain:

  1. You create a Rule.
  2. You attach that Rule to a Profile.
  3. You assign that Profile to a product Category.

Once a Profile is linked to a Category, every single product inside that category will follow the import rules you made.
