Does the app create Amazon listings from Shopify, or do products need to exist on Amazon first?

Creating listings on Amazon does not need pre-existing Amazon listings. The following guide is for when you own the products and the brand. Otherwise, if you are doing dropshipping, there's a different route you would need to take:

If you do own the products and brand, here are the requirements and considerations:

  1. Shopify Catalog: Ensure it's well-structured with unique SKUs (and barcodes, if applicable).
  2. Amazon Requirements:
  • Use official GS1 barcodes or get a GTIN exemption.
  • Get Brand Approval/Registry to create new listings.
  • Shopify products' main images must have a white background.
  1. In-App Setup: Configure Matching Groups, Models, and Mappings.

In-App Setup

Once you're good with the prerequisites A and B, you can proceed to C. To start with the In-App Setup, please follow the next steps:

Step 1: Creating The Matching Group

  • On Models > Matching Group
  • Add the Group title/name
  • Add the condition
  • Save

Step 2: Create The Model

  • On Models > Model
  • Select the Matching Group to be used
  • Select the product type that best fits your products
  • Click on Auto-fill required attributes
  • Edit the attributes and add the values required
  • Select your barcode type
  • Add category or categories. One will be enough, though.
  • Save

Step 3: Send An Initial Export

  • On Actions > Catalog > Export > Get Started
  • Browse to Search Options and select the Matching Group created
  • Filter the search based on what's applicable to you (e.g., List only non-existent products on Amazon, Products with barcodes only)
  • Select one SKU to export
  • Click on Export Selected

Step 4: Checking Feed Report

  • On Actions > Feeds
  • Click View if available, or Get Report to check if a report is available.
  • This lets you view all missing attributes or changes needed on the model
  • List down the attributes that need modification or are required
  • If no errors are reported on the feed, no need to proceed with Step 5. If errors are identified, follow the steps below

Step 5: Go Back to the Model

  • Again, on Models > Model
  • Edit the Model
  • Add the other attributes that are noted on the feed error
  • Modify the attributes noted to be changed
  • Save

Step 6: Send Another Export

  • Check on Actions > Feeds, and should there be other errors, follow the steps on Step 5
  • If no errors are noted, wait for up to 24 hours and check your Amazon Inventory Listing page regularly to see if Amazon finds no other problem

It's always best to check on your Amazon Inventory Listing page as well, since there are errors or requirements beyond the app's scope of support, like applying for GTIN exemption, brand registration, and other Amazon registrations or applications. These can only be covered within Amazon's website. If no error appears within the app and on your Amazon account, try using the link Amazon - Fix your products.
