# "Unit Count Type” is required but missing - Amazon Marketplace Plus

## **Error message**

When creating a product on Amazon, the report may display the following error:
||| "Unit Count Type” is required but missing
![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/3/f/a/8/3fa8ee645cd13200/image_mkpxfb.png)

This means Amazon expects a measurement unit for the product’s **Unit Count**, but the value was not included in the data sent by the module.
---

## **What are Unit Count and Unit Count Type?**

These two fields work together:

* **Unit Count** is the numeric quantity contained in the product.
* **Unit Count Type** is the unit used to measure that quantity.

Examples:

| **Product** | **Unit Count** | **Unit Count Type** |
| Pack of 6 individual items | 6 | Count / Unit |
| 500 g product | 500 | Gram |
| 750 ml bottle | 750 | Millilitre |
---

## **Why does this error occur?**

The error usually occurs because:

* **Unit Count Type** has not been added to the profile.
* The field was added but no value was selected.
* **Unit Count** was configured without its corresponding **Unit Count Type**.
* The selected unit is not accepted for the product’s Product Type or item form.

Although the field appears under **Optional available fields** in the module, Amazon can require it for specific products.
---

## **How to fix the error**

### **1. Open the affected profile**

Identify the profile assigned to the PrestaShop category containing the affected product, then open that profile in the Amazon module.

### **2. Add Unit Count Type**

First check whether **Unit Count Type** is already displayed in the profile.

If it is not displayed:
1. Go to **Optional available fields** on the right.
2. Click **Load**.
3. Search for **Unit Count**.
4. Click the green **+** icon to add it to the profile.

---

### **3. Configure both fields**

Configure **Unit Count** with the numeric quantity and select the matching measurement unit for **Unit Count Type**.

* If all products assigned to the profile use the same value, configure a fixed value.
* If the value differs between products, map it to the corresponding PrestaShop feature or attribute where supported.
* If products require different fixed measurement units, separate them into different profiles.

Select the Unit Count Type from the available Amazon values shown by the module. The wording may be localized according to the marketplace—for example, gram, millilitre, metre, square metre, or unit/count.

### **4. Save and resend the product**

1. Save the profile.
2. Return to **Catalog > Amazon > Products**.
3. Send the affected product again in **Create** mode.
4. Go to **Catalog > Amazon > Report** and review the new report after Amazon has processed it.

---

## **If the error continues**

Verify that:

* Neither **Unit Count** nor **Unit Count Type** is empty.
* The selected unit correctly matches the numeric quantity.
* The correct profile is assigned to the product’s PrestaShop category.
* The selected **Product Type** is appropriate for the product.
* The table of valid Amazon values has been updated from the module’s **Tools** tab.

If the error persists, contact support and provide:

* The affected SKU
* A screenshot or copy of the Amazon report
* The profile name and Product Type
* Your Amazon module and PrestaShop versions
