# Settings

### Import/Export Type

__Default Value__: By Reference / SKU (Highly Recommended)

In **Settings**, under **Product references (SKU)**, choose whether the module synchronizes by **Reference (SKU)** or by **Product ID**. Product ID is generally not necessary; we recommend **Reference**.

Make sure that all products have unique references as shown on [Validate your catalog structure](https://doc.common-services.com/en/article/validate-your-catalog-structure-cdiscount-1trq16m/). Use Product ID only if that approach is truly not applicable.

Optional extras (Find → Replace character rules, automatic Octopia SKU sanitization) can normalize the SKU **on export / order import** without changing your PrestaShop catalog references.

### EAN-13 Policy

Choose how EAN-13 barcodes are checked and sent when you export products or update offers. Order lines are still matched using your product references and marketplace SKUs, not this setting. Recommended default: Normal.

* **Normal:** Requires a valid EAN-13 for each exported product or combination (correct length and checksum). Missing or invalid codes are skipped so you only send compliant lines. Recommended for almost all sellers.
* **Permissive:** Lets the export include products with or without EAN-13. Filled codes are validated like in Normal; empty codes may still be refused by Cdiscount depending on the category. Only enable if you know your categories accept offers without EAN-13.

### Automatic Alignment

If you sell products that have competitors and you want to automatically align your prices with theirs to stay competitive, check this box. You will define an upper and lower range in your profile, or a minimum and maximum price on the product sheet.

### Default Comment

It is possible to comment all of your offers, a quick competitive description, for example; Professional seller, Fast Shipping. ### Other settings

__Discounts/Promotions__: allow the module to export promotions and discounts on products, to export sales.

__Short Description Field__: You specify the Prestashop field used for the short description. The short description can contain 200 characters and HTML characters will be filtered.

__Long Description Field__: You specify the Prestashop field that contains the complete description of your product and which may contain HTML. The whole of this description will be sent.

__State/Conditions__: If you sell used goods, input all of the different states of your Prestashop store and do the correspondence with those of CDiscount.

__Expert Mode__: Activate this feature only on special request of Common-Services support.

__Client Email__ (Expert Mode Only): Enter an alternative domain name (yours a priori) with which the module will create the account. This case should not normally happen. If you select No, a global account “CDiscount” will be used, all invoices will be grouped on a single account, useful in rare cases.

__Taxes__ (Expert Mode Only): Leave Yes in most cases.
