# Product references and EAN/UPC codes import/export tool - Amazon Marketplace Plus

📍 Go to *Modules > Amazon > Tools*

If your products have **missing references or EAN/UPC codes**, this tool allows you to update your product listings efficiently in 3 steps:

1. 📤 Export the CSV file  
2. ✍️ Edit the file using Excel or OpenOffice  
3. 📥 Import the modified file

> ⚠️ **Important:**
> 
> - You are **fully responsible** for your data. Always **backup your database** before importing any file.  
> - This is an **internal module file**: **it does not send any data to Amazon**.  
> - Use this tool **before publishing products on Amazon**, otherwise, you risk creating **duplicate SKUs**.  
> - This tool is intended for **advanced users** only.

### 1. Exporting the File

Click the export button to download the CSV file to your computer.  
Open the file using **OpenOffice** or **Excel**.

### 2. Editing the File

When opening the file, choose **UTF-8 encoding** and semicolon as separator:

Editable columns:

* `Reference (SKU)`
* `UPC`
* `EAN`
* `Manufacturer`

Non-editable (informational) columns:

* `Product ID`
* `Product Name`

ℹ️ The `Product ID` appears as `123_0` for simple products or `123_678` for combinations.

💡 EAN and UPC codes are **prefixed with a `'` symbol** to prevent Excel from converting them to scientific notation. This symbol is **automatically removed** by the module during import.

✅ Once editing is complete, **save the file without changing its format or structure**.

### 3. Importing the File

Upload the modified file:

The module will confirm how many items were updated:
