# Pricing - Prices / Price rules - Spartoo (Shopify)

**Spartoo > Pricing > Prices**

In the Shopify app this screen was called Price rule. It now shares the **Pricing** menu with **Discounts**.

A price rule changes the price sent to Spartoo. It does not change the price in the shop.

## Add a rule

Click **Add rule**.

**Rule name**, **Match**, and **Conditions** work like the other rule screens. The fields are **Category**, **Product type**, **Tag**, and **Brand**, with **is** or **contains**.

**Applies to** is specific to this rule. Choose **Increase** or **Decrease**, then set the amount as a fixed value or a percentage.

## Price tiers

One percentage rarely fits a whole catalogue. **Price tiers** let one rule carry several amounts.

Each tier has a **From price**, a **Type**, and a **Value**. The product takes the highest tier its price reaches. A price below every tier is left unchanged.

| From price | Value |
| ---- | ---- |
| 0 | +15% |
| 50 | +10% |
| 200 | +5% |

A product at 30 takes 15%. A product at 120 takes 10%. A product at 400 takes 5%.

## Order of the rules

Rules are read in the order they were created. The first one that matches is the only one applied. A product is not adjusted twice.

## What it does not do

The price in the shop does not change. The rule applies when the feed is built. The amount is then converted from the shop currency.

This is not a discount. A price rule sets the price sent. Showing the product as reduced is done under **Discounts**. A product can have both.
