# Inconsistency - The EAN/UPC code seems wrong. Skipping product. - Amazon Marketplace Plus

The export log shows this message:

||| Inconsistency for the product XXX-YYY(0/1) - The EAN/UPC code (4000005280510) seems wrong. Skipping product.

## Why this message?

The **EAN code is required** on most marketplaces (unless you're exempt).

This means the EAN code for your product is **invalid**:  
→ It doesn’t match a valid code issued by **GS1**.

⚠️ **EAN codes from free or random generators are not valid** and are rejected by Amazon (same for UPC codes).

## What to do?

* Replace the code with a **GS1-issued EAN**
* If using combinations, **each variation must have its own EAN code**
