# Generalities on the Creation of Products - Amazon Marketplace Plus

## Profiles

[Profiles](https://doc.common-services.com/en/article/profile-configuration-amazon-marketplace-plus-sa58xn/) are used to assign common characteristics to your products so that they comply with the structure expected by Amazon.
A single profile can be applied to multiple [categories](https://doc.common-services.com/en/article/categories-tab-amazon-marketplace-plus-1u6e0ok/) in PrestaShop. However, **a category can only be associated with one profile**.
The settings defined in the profile will be used for all products linked to that profile.

## Models / Templates (Flat File)

When you are not using the module, you need to use Amazon’s import file called a *Flat File*.
With the module, this file is normally not required. However, we recommend downloading it because it contains helpful information—especially in the **Valid Values** tab—that can assist you when configuring your profile.

## Classification and Categorization

Amazon organizes products by **Product Type** and **Category**. These are distinct elements:

* Your profile will be assigned a **Product Type**.
* The **Amazon categorization** is defined by a **recommended browse node**, which is also independent of the product type.

These values will be automatically applied to all products assigned to the profile.

## Combinations / Variants

Your PrestaShop combinations (e.g., size, color) are automatically converted to **Amazon variants**.
Make sure to select the correct attributes in your profile—typically *Size* and/or *Color*.
