# Exclusions - Spartoo (Shopify)

**Spartoo > Exclusions**

Products that match a [Categories](https://doc.common-services.com/en/article/categories-spartoo-shopify-1dw3jql/) rule are sent to Spartoo. An exclusion keeps some of them out: a brand you do not sell there, samples, seconds, or anything else you do not want listed.

## Add a rule

Click **Add rule**. The form is the same shape as the other rule screens.

**Rule name** is for you.

**Match** is **all conditions** or **any condition**.

**Conditions** use **Category**, **Product type**, **Tag**, or **Brand**, with **is** or **contains**. **Category** is the shop collection.

There is no **Applies to**. The only result is that the product is not sent.

**Simulation** lists the products this rule will keep out, before you save.

## Matching

If any exclusion rule matches the product, it is not sent. The order of the rules does not change that.

## Excluding is not withdrawing

An excluded product stops being sent. What Spartoo already has stays until Spartoo removes it. Adding an exclusion does not take a live listing down.

To remove a product from Spartoo now, remove it there. The exclusion stops it coming back on the next feed run.

## Checking what a rule catches

[Reports](https://doc.common-services.com/en/article/reports-spartoo-shopify-g8hghx/) lists products left out of each run, with a warning. Use that to check whether a new exclusion catches what you meant, and whether it catches more than you meant.
